The Australian Jazz Awards

The Australian Jazz Awards were inaugurated in 2003 and named in honour of Graeme Bell AO, MBE, the "Father of Australian Jazz", and are affectionately known as The Bells.
The Awards – Australia's first national jazz awards – were established to recognise the talent and achievements of Australian artists locally and internationally and encourage excellence in the performance, recording and presentation of jazz in Australia. As a result, they continue to grow in size and prestige.

At the 2008 Australian Jazz Bell Awards – international critics will invited to participate in the jury panel to ensure international coverage for the winners.
